Additionally, one of the first positive signs from our new site owner is they allowed us to use the race box without a £25 per day charge the previous owner sought to charge us. So the days of us running races from a car on the slip way with a car horn for the start signal are behind us. Only slightly disappointed I never saw the sight of the code flags being raised from the sun roof of a Range Rover on the slipway.
The racing today looked exciting. It was mostly Flying Fifteens as several of our Laser sailors were completing their PB2 certificate so they can help with support boat duties. If you'd like to join them we have our next course on the 19/20 March – contact Jason Perry for more information.
In addition to the Flying Fifteens, we had a good show from our youth sailors this week, including four of our young Feva sailors, two aspiring sailors in a Topaz, and we were particularly delighted to see UK number one 420 sailor Ross Banham return – albeit racing a Laser today. It's so good to start seeing some of the talented youth sailors return to Bewl as we aim to make it the premier sailing location in the South East once again.
All in all, a great day at Bewl. And we very much look forward to seeing more of you join us over the coming weeks.
