The Push The Boat Out event was superb. We took 147 people for a taster sail, 18 of who were individuals and 40 families. Judging by the smiles on their faces when they came ashore, parents and children all seemed to enjoy themselves. Many were wet with spray and this just added to their enjoyment as far as we could tell.
The sailing was good and the reason they came of course, but the welcome they received on arrival by BSA, MoB and Midweekers as well as from Emma from the Outdoor Centre was always encouraging and informative. Many showed real interest in sailing more, and some have already joined up.
The helms from BSA, MoB, the Midweekers and the Outdoor Centre did a great job. A bit of spray but no capsizes. However our support boats were always on hand just in case. The Pop Up Cafe run by Chris and Cath was great for sailors and helpers. To know that a hot cup of coffee and some cake was available all day was very good. The barbecue from Phil was also welcome.
A big thank you to Jo for organizing this successful day.
